リオ・デ・ジャネイロで開催された”Rock In Rio 2013”。9/20のステージにヘッドライナーとして出演したBON JOVIのライブ・パフォーマンスを、デジタル・リマスタリングの施された超高音質ステレオ・サウンドボード録音にて収録した2枚組みCDと、高画質HDTVプロショットにて収録した2枚組みDVDのカップリング・アイテム。リッチー・サンボラの脱退に続き、ティコ・トーレスまでもが緊急入院のために離脱。そのような逆境の中おこなわれたこの日のライブですが、熱狂的な南米の観客の後押しを受けて、われらがジョンも鬼気迫る入魂のパフォーマンスを見せてくれています。CDにはボーナストラックとして、この日演奏されなかった「Born To Be My Baby」「In These Arms」「Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night」の3曲を、6月におこなわれた”Isle Of Wight 2013”のステージより追加収録。DVDには7/.5にハイドパークでおこなわれた”British Summer Time”フェスより計6曲を、ボーナス映像として追加収録しています。もちろん既に出回っている同公演の映像アイテムに見られるような音飛び箇所も皆無なので、2013年度版Rock In Rioの決定版として、また12月に予定されている来日公演の予復習用としても、是非ともおさえていただきたい1枚です。
